CONSUMER INFORMATION

Student consumer information disclosures are intended to satisfy students’ right to know and afford them the opportunity to make fully informed choices regarding the institution they elect to attend. California Technical Academy is committed to providing students, families and the public with clear, concise, comprehensive consumer information.  Click on each link for more information about that topic as it applies at CTA

Athletics

The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) requires a school that has an intercollegiate athletic program to make prospective students aware of its commitment to providing equitable athletic opportunities for its men and women students. Schools that participate in intercollegiate athletics are required to make certain disclosures.  California Technical Academy does not have an intercollegiate athletic program.

Campus Security And Reporting Crime Policy

The Campus Security Policy and Crime Report include a description of the school’s safety policies, procedures, educational programming, and crime statistics reported annually to the Department. The school has developed these policies and procedures to foster a safe environment for students to learn.

Constitution Day

Constitution Day is the recognition of the signing of the United States Constitution. It is observed on September 17th, the day the U.S. Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution in 1787 in Philadelphia.

Copyright Infringement

The Copyright Infringement Policy prohibits unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material, including unauthorized peer-to-peer file sharing. The policy includes policies, prohibitions, school and legal sanctions that may be imposed for failure to adhere to copyright and peer-to-peer file sharing pollcies.

Cost Of Attendance BOAS

Cost of attendance budgets are created to be used in awarding Federal Student Aid. Cost of attendance budgets include institutional charges such as tuition, books, software and hardware, and supplies and non-institutional charges such as room and board, miscellaneous personal expenses, transportation, etc.

Drug & Alchol Abuse Prevention Policy

The Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Student Conduct Policy is provides information to students to prevent drug and alcohol abuse. The policy includes procedures, institution, state and federal sanction for infractions of the policy and laws related to the possession, use, sale or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol, health risks associated with drug and alcohol abuse, educational programming, and agencies offering treatment services.
Financial Assistance Catalog
The school provides information on the Federal Student Aid programs including how to apply for financial aid, how aid is awarded, what verification is and how aid is disbursed.

Misrepresentation

A school is required to represent itself, the nature of its programs, financial charges, and employability in a factual and truthful way. California Technical Academy makes every effort not to misrepresent itself to students, staff, oversight agencies and the public at large. All staff is responsible for portraying the school in a manner that is honest and truthful, particularly staff involved in the recruitment of students. Publications and advertising must be factual and truthful in nature.

National Student Loan Data System

The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is maintained by the U.S. Department of Education, and houses financial aid information, enrollment history and loan status for all students who receive Federal Student Aid. Schools submit data to NSLDS and that information can be accessed by students, lenders, servicers, etc.

Net Price Calculator

The Net Price Calculator is designed to give you an early indication of how much and what types of financial aid you might qualify for if you were attend California Technical Academy full-time in the academic year indicated. Your “net price” is the difference between the cost of attendance and the total grant aid. A student loan can further reduce your net price.

Non-Discrimination And Harassment Policy

California Technical Academy adheres to a strict policy of non-discrimination. We will not discriminate or permit discrimination by any member of its community against any individual on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, parental status, marital status, age, disability, citizenship status, veteran status, genetic information, or any other classification protected by law in matters of admissions, employment, housing, or services or in the educational programs or activities it operates.

Harassment, whether verbal, physical, or visual, that is based on any of these characteristics is a form of discrimination. This includes harassing conduct affecting tangible job benefits, interfering unreasonably with an individual’s academic or work performance, or creating what a reasonable person would perceive is an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment. Prohibited sex discrimination includes sexual harassment and sexual violence.

Notice Of Fedral Student Aid Penalties For Drug Violations

The Notice of Federal Student Aid Penalties for Drug Law Violations is provided to each financial aid recipient upon enrollment. It informs the student that there are penalties if convicted of specified drug related offenses, including the loss of Federal Student Aid.

Private Loan Lenders

A private loan lender is defined as any company, agency, individual, school, etc., other than the U.S. Department of Education, that makes a loan to a student or parent for educational purposes.

Retention Rate

The Retention Rate discloses the percentage of students who remain enrolled, and have not yet completed the program, as calculated by the Integrated Post-secondary Education Data System (IPEDS) using fall enrollment data reported by the school.

School Performance Fact Sheet – CA Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education

The School Performance Fact Sheet provides completion, placement and licensure rates, salary and wage information. For programs approved to participate in the Federal Student Aid programs, the Fact Sheet also includes the federal student loan default rate and the percentage of enrolled students receiving Federal Student Loans information.

Student Loan Professional Code Of Conduct

The Student Loan Professional Code of Conduct contains policies the school follows to demonstrate it adheres to the highest level of professional conduct in its administration of its financial aid programs.

Student Right-To-Know Graduation Rate

The Student Right-to-Know graduation rate, in compliance with the Student Right-to-Know Act, discloses the completion/graduation rate as calculated and reported in the IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System).

Textbooks

A school that posts an online registration schedule is required to post verified textbook pricing information for required and recommended materials for all classes. California Technical Academy does not post an online registration schedule. Students are issued books on an as needed basis as they progress through the program.

Vaccination

The Vaccination Policy is required of all schools participating in the Federal Student Aid programs.

Veterans Education Benefits

California Technical Academy is approved for participation in Veterans Educational Benefit programs.

Voter Registration

Voter Registration information must be provided to each student during any year when there is a election of federal official or state governor.

Incentive Compensation

A school may not pay any incentive compensation, bonus, reward, commission to anyone involved, directly or indirectly, in the recruitment, admissions, or financial aid process.


Preferred Lender List

For any year in which a school has a preferred lender arrangement, it must at least annually compile, maintain, and make available for students attending the school and the families of such students a list in print or other medium of the specific lenders for private education loans that the school recommends, promotes, or endorses in accordance with such preferred lender arrangement. California Technical Academy does not have a preferred lender arrangement with any lender, specifically, non-U.S. Department of Education lenders, public or private.

Student Right To Know – Diversity

As required by the Higher Education Act (HEOA) of 1965 Sec 488(a)(1) (20 U.S.C. 1092(a)(1), as amended, the school makes available information regarding student diversity as reported in the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS).
